SMART *and others

Today, I gave a training/product Demo of the Whiteboard in UNIV-3-087 (the "math lab")*

*It's interesting.. this space is known as the "Math Lab"... because of the extra bits of hardware in it:  it contains a SMART board, and a document camera.... FANCY.

I digress.

I was basically showing some folks from the Reading Recovery program the most basic features of the "Begs-to-be-touched" board and screen capturing.  They had asked me before during a conference where an outside guest came-in to show-off her curricular materials.

We currently possess 2x SMART-brand smart-boards (UNIV-2-141 & UNIV-3-087) and a PolyVision Interactive Whiteboard* (UNIV-2-078) which I can get into later.. *ugh.

To make a long-story short:
Running an interactive SMART board, you will need 3 things:

  1. a Mac or PC (either will do, the requirements vary,....)
  2. SMART Notebook software  --- Note:  you can probably download it from this site as a "trial.".. But if you are a Faculty or Staff, you will get access to our Lesley University license... which includes upgrades FOR LIFE. ^_^.
  3. a USB Cable.
The rest is up to calibration and finding a way to make materials "interactive".... *good luck with that.
The eLearning & Instructional Support (eLIS) department would be a good place to start.

At any rate...
Cheers.
